Trucksmart is a family business that begun in 1992 by current managing director David Body. David’s strong desire to carve his own path in life as a business owner by buying and selling ex government trucks. These times were on the tail of the recession and government departments were liquidating assets at rapid rate. The business started with not much capital, plenty of risk and even more hard work, long hours, plenty of travel sourcing trucks was the norm. In typical Aussie tradition hard work paid off.
Many opportunities over the years presented themselves and brands like Volvo & Hino have come and gone after Trucksmart was bought out in 2008. However, it was not long because in 2009 Trucksmart was back in business specialising in used Volvo truck sales. By 2016 supply of used trucks was becoming more challenging, we couldn’t source the quality our core values dictated, and our parts and service offering was building, so it was time to let go of truck sales.
In 2020 we were back under the umbrella of an OE and joined in partnership with Scania, as their parts and service dealer from the Hawkesbury to Wauchope and the Upper Hunter Valley. With a staff over 60 we are diverse company with a can-do attitude open 24 hours a day 6 days a week and afterhours service and parts in the few hours we are closed .
